Here are a few things I made while living at Camden Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are some concrete planters I made. A friend gave me an old “Dough Boy” antenna which made the inside of the bowl. They are made from concrete with wire reinforcement. Here is a chicken coop I made out of MDF, pvc pipe and some plastic laying around. It had wheels so you could move it around so the chickens could not destroy the lawn. worked great. You could open the door in the morning and the chickens would roam around all day. The great thing is they ate lots of bugs and that place has lots of bugs. At night, they would go back in all by themselves so all you had to do was close the door. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made this knife out of an old sawblade someone gave me. The handle was from a tree that grew in the yard and did not survive a storm. It was a honey Locust tree and the wood was really hard. Made a great knife handle. I cut the blade out with a torch and ground it with a belt sander. I blued it with rifle bluing and made the sheath from some leather I bought on E-Bay. Will make some more knives one day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Needed a plant stand and had nothing to do one Saturday so I built one with stuff laying around. Built the top frame out of some old angle iron. bent the legs out of 3\/8″ rod, welded it up and cleaned then painted it. Put a piece of ceramic tile in the frame. Found an old boat trailer abandoned in the woods one day. I shortened it, welded it back together, put some sides on it and eventually put a 2X6 wood floor in it. Used it to haul around junk for a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lots of wildlife back at Camden point and will post more pics as I find them. The first is a Wild Boar walking down the road on the way from work one day. Second pic is my Hummingbird feeder which provided hours of entertainment for me and Sun. Just watching them is fun. Third is a big Snapping Turtle that crawled up in the yard one day. The last picture was taken in the mid 80’s. I was walking on the beach on the south end of Sand Bridge and along came these horses. You used to be able to drive to the Outer Banks from Sand Bridge in the late 60’s but it has been off limits to cars since early 70’s (I think).
